Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives for
Standardization – Part 1. Structure and Drafting of Standards.
This Standard is the modification against QC/T 501-1999.
Compared with QC/T 501-1999, this Standard has the major changes as follows.
--- Delete the starting time and impact requirements;
--- Add the quiescent current, over-voltage, salt spray, reverse voltage,
electromagnetic compatibility, protection test and requirements;
--- Reduce the voltage drop of the flasher correspondingly;
--- Adjust the durability test time slightly according to several enterprises’ standards;
appropriately reduction of time can meet the actual working conditions;
--- In the aspect of test circuit diagram, considering the current state of existing
products, give Line-3 and Line-5 product lines diagrams.
This Standard was proposed by and under the jurisdiction of National Technical
Committee of Auto Standardization (SAC/TC 114).
Drafting organizations of this Standard. Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd., China
Automotive Technology & Research Center, Beijing Eight Sites Park Aobo Sci-Tech
Development Co., Ltd., BAIC Motor Corporation Limited, Faw Haima Automobile Co.,
Enterprise Co., Ltd.
Chief drafting staffs of this Standard. Rao Shengyuan, Xu Xiu Xiang, Du Jianchao,
Dong Liwei, Wang Wen, Ma Limin, Wang Xiangjiu, Zhang Yongying, and Li Guoqing.
Automotive Signal Flasher
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the like
of automotive signal flasher.
This Standard is applicable to the Type-M and Type-N automotive signal flasher
(hereinafter referred to as signal flasher). Other motor vehicles can be implemented

4 Test Methods
4.1 Test conditions
4.1.1 The installation of flasher on the test bench shall simulate the actual vehicle
installation; for the lamp load measuring the load or the linear simulating the actual
vehicle load, the load power error shall be ±5%.
4.1.2 The accuracy of voltage meter and ammeter shall be no less than Class 0.5.
4.1.3 The test power supply shall be DC power supply; its ripple voltage shall be no
greater than 75mV (P-P).
4.1.5 The basic performance test shall be performed at (23±5) °C.
4.2 Appearance inspection
Perform as per the visual inspection method.
4.3 Basic performance test
4.3.1 Working frequency and electrified rate
According to the circuit shown in Figure 1 or Figure 2, connect the oscilloscope or
related test instruments to the output circuit of the flasher; under the test voltage,
minimum and maximum load, measure continuously for 10 cycles; then take the
average value.
According to the circuit shown in Figure 1 or Figure 2, perform under the test voltage.
Disconnect SW1, in case the flasher is not working, measure the quiescent current in
the power supply loop.
circuit test switch; SW5 – turn left light overload test switch; SW6 – right main lamp failure test
switch; SW7 – turn right light failure test switch (set according to the requirement); SW8 – turn
right light short-circuit test switch; SW9 – turn right light overload test switch; SW10 – hazard
warning test switch; 1 – power supply input end; 2, 3 – switch input; 4, 5 – load output.
Figure 2 Line-5 Flasher Test Circuit
As for the flasher with quiescent current can’t be measured according to the wiring
the negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.
4.3.3 Voltage drop
According to the circuit shown in Figure 1 or Figure 2; voltage drop shall be measured
under test voltage. Each main lamp bulb power shall be 21W, LED power shall be
determined through the negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser. After the
loading operation is stable, use the voltage meter or oscilloscope to measure, when
power supply or output end test is passed ...
